My Story
My name is Tony, I am the owner and director of TJK Driver Training.
I am a British Army Veteran and a Retired Police Officer with extensive Road Policing experience and specialist driver training.​
I have lived in Aston Clinton for more than 30 years.
I am a fully qualified DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
I am also a DVSA registered Pass Plus Driving Instructor.
​
I am a qualified Thrive Neurodiverse Champion Driving Instructor.
​​
I qualified as an Army Driving Instructor at the Army School of Mechanical Transport in 1987.
​​
I successfully passed the Police Advanced Driving Course in 2003 along with Tactical Pursuit and other specialist Police driving courses.
​​
I am a Qualified and IMI Authorised Advanced Driving Test Examiner for the charity IAM RoadSmart since 2009 for both Cars and Commercial Vehicles.

How Many Driving Lessons do I need?

Back in 2010, the Driving and Vehicle Standard Agency (DVSA) calculated that the average learner who passed their test took 47 hours worth of lessons. This is in addition to 22 hours of private practice, with many driving schools also recommending learners practice their driving in between lessons too.
More recently, the gov.uk website said basically the same thing - that it takes on average 45 hours of driving lessons and 22 hours of private practice.

PLATINUM PACKAGE
This is the full recommended DVSA 45 hours** tuition to achieve test standard including a 15% discount.

This is the premiere course I offer and represents a £270 saving on the same in standard lessons.

DVSA PASS PLUS COURSE
Pass Plus training takes at least 6 hours. It has 6 modules, covering driving:
in Town
in All Weathers
on Rural Roads
at Night
on Dual Carriageways
on Motorways
All modules are practical sessions, although local conditions may mean some are theory based.
You’ll spend at least 5.5 hours driving.
You will not take a test but you’ll be assessed throughout the course.
To pass you’ll have to reach the required standard in all modules.
Many insurance companies offer a discount for completion of this course.

Trailer Safety Training
Trailer Safety Training to DVSA Standard using your own outfit
(Caravan, Trailer, Horsebox etc).

Train how to hitch up Safely, Drive with a trailer behind you and reverse safely.
